Return of the Pine Martens
Each year, WATER provides our supporters with an update on what we have been doing, across the Erme catchment, to help improve water quality, habitat and biodiversity.
You will hear short (10-15 minute) updates from our leads on the following workstreams:
- Water Based
- Farmed Land Based
- Non-Farmed Land Based
- Catchment-Based
- Education
We then take a 30 minute break when you will have the opportunity to talk one-to-one with the team leads you have just heard from and other team members. They will be in our Workstream Zones in the Atrium Gallery and Stowford Suite at the end of the Gallery.
Part two is when we introduce our guest speaker. This year we are delighted to be able to introduce you to Daniel Brown, Pine Marten Project Field Officer for Devon Wildlife Trust.
Thanks to the work of DWT, this critically endangered species is now returning to the South West for the first time in 150 years.
Daniel will describe the conditions that led to their decline, their place in the woodland ecology tracks and signs that people can look for and DWT’s support for local foresters, landowners and communities.
His talk will be illustrated with several recent insightful videos of Pine Martens in the wild.
The WATER team hope you will find it a very informative and interesting evening.
Admission is by ticket only, so that we can manage attendance numbers, but TICKETS ARE FREE.
