New EA system for reporting river pollution and environmental problems is live
Following a pilot with Westcountry Rivers Trust CSIers earlier this year, the EA have advised that the new reporting service is live and available 24/7 with no access code needed. After Coastguards’ POOR rating, who’s testing for what on the Erme?

Youngsters Show The Way On Fundraising For Water
Children made up 16 of the 28 walkers who took part in a Coastal Walk fundraiser that offered a choice of two distances (for different age children). Both ended at the top of Burgh Island providing the added motivation of needing to get back across the beach before the tide came in.

Coastguards Beach, Water Quality Investigation Update

Update on water quality issue at Coastguards Beach
Last November the Environment Agency (EA) issued the water quality classifications for Coastguards Beach. This was the first season of testing since Bathing Water status was granted in early 2024. Disappointingly, but unsurprisingly, the classification was ‘Poor’.
